This specialised day care centre, also situated at our Pinetown premises, offers loving care for young children whose disabilities are too severe to allow them to benefit from any form of schooling. They are dependent on their care-givers for all their needs.

Children with a Challenge

Our CWAC Centre fills the need for specialised day care facilities for younger children with severe Cerebral Palsy. Mainstream children’s day care centres are often reluctant to accept these children, as they do not have the necessary facilities and staff to cope.

The children are intellectually challenged and entirely dependent on their Care-Worker for all their needs. They are assessed and if need be, placed in special schools.

Relief for families
Again, the Centre offers relief for families, as well as a happy, safe and loving environment. Our role in the community is to assist in early detection and provide a specialised service.

Volunteers
Voluntary assistance plays an integral part of the daily routine. Students from The University of KZN visit our centre weekly. We also have student nurses from Prince Mshiyeni Nursing College who visit as part of their practical learnership.
